MXBob.com and the Straight Arrow Enduro Riders present:
The first ever Paul Spears Memorial
Grantsburg Vintage Race
Grantsburg, WI, April 11
Come out Sunday, April 11th for the first ever Grantsburg Vintage Motocross Championship. If you’ve got
anything that runs and would be considered old, we should have a place for you to ride/race it.
Rules (as few as possible)
• Initially, it will be one class, any bike that is twenty years old or older. 1990 is the
Model-Year Cut-off, but you could plead your case if it’s close to the line. If you yourself could be considered “Vintage”, you may get by with a little newer bike.
We’re trying to include as many riders as possible.
• If we get enough people, we would divide up, for scoring purposes, into more classes. It will be
left up to the wisdom of the Race-Day Scoring Marshal to create the sub-class criteria.
• It is also a regular District 23 race day, so, of course, you could also race any of those classes
(that you are qualified for). I will try to get the Vintage race dropped as early in the order as
possible.
Technically, it may not be the first Vintage event, because bikes made by Monarch, Lito, Hodaka, and
other long-gone companies have all probably spun a wheel on the fabled Grantsburg sand at some point,
along with all the Japanese models. They just weren’t called Vintage yet. We hope to see you there,
re-creating the past that never was. Or was it?
For race Day details of this race or info on other 2010 Straight Arrow events, check
their Track Page.
